About Us : The MTM Mission and Vision
Our mission is the strategic collection of exquisite, representative samples of textiles and textile arts displaying the creativity of Iranians and those inhabiting the Persianate world in terms of design, utility, material usage, weave, embroidery and decoration.
Our collection is assembled with a focus on flat textiles, and has no limitation in terms of historical time periods.
Our textile collection is meant to both preserve the memory of textile manufacture, as well as to encourage viewers to study, learn, disseminate and to draw inspiration from our country’s proud heritage of artistry and craftsmanship, carrying it sustainably into the future.
The Manouchehri Textile Museum - MTM, currently occupying 300m2 of exhibition space, aspires to be an introductory platform for Iranian textiles and textile-related arts. We see the becoming of our objects as a source of wonder, and aim to tell their evolutionary narrative from all related sides and artistic perspectives, in order to deepen the bond between our visitors and our collection.
